UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS
CHARITABLE FUNDS SYSTEMS

Click on this link CHARITY.PUB then select Save, save this file in C:\TIMEWCF\CHARITY
NB For Network based applications you must save the file to the same location as the CHARITY.APP file

Disconnect from the internet

For single user systems

Make a copy of C:\Timewcf

 

From your desktop double-click on "My Computer"
Double Click on "Drive C:",
Right Click on the folder "Timewcf"
Click on Copy
Click on Edit
Click on Paste

When the copy is complete perform the upgrade

 

Double click on the folder "Timewcf"
Double click on Equinox.Exe (The one with the coloured icon)
Click on Publisher
Click on Upgrade
Click on OK (provided you have made a sucessful copy as described above)

When the upgrade is complete, click on OK and then Exit Equinox and close all Windows.
Run the application and the upgrade should be complete.


For multi user systems Running NT

Stop the Network Service

 

Ensure all users are logged out of the system
On the Server run EQSVC.EXE
Click on the service name (Usually Charitable Funds)
Click on the Red Traffic Light
When the service is stopped close EQSVCE.EXE

 

Make a copy of the Timewcf folder

 

From your desktop double-click on "My Computer"
Double Click on "Drive x:" (Where x: relates to the drive letter holding your application)
Right Click on the folder "Timewcf"
Click on Copy
Click on Edit
Click on Paste

NB If you are running thin client it may be preferable to perform the upgrade with the single user client, instead of running the service and using the multi user client (Call us on 01604 768721 to discuss this)

Start the Network Service

 

On the Server run EQSVC.EXE
Click on the service name (Usually Charitable Funds)
Click on the Green Traffic Light
When the service is started close EQSVCE.EXE

Perform the upgrade

 

Double click on the folder on your local hard drive containing EQCLIENT
Double click on Equinet.Exe (The one with the coloured icon)
Log In
Click on Publisher
Click on Upgrade
Click on OK (provided you have made a sucessful copy as described above)

When the upgrade is complete, click on OK and then Exit Equinox and close all Windows.
Run the application and the upgrade should be complete.


For multi user systems Running NetWare

Stop the NLM

 

Ensure all users are logged out of the system
On the Server from the system console Press ALT and ESC and select the Equinox Database Server module
Press X to eXit the application.
If asked to confirm then press Y.

Make a copy of the Timewcf folder

 

From your local desktop double-click on "My Computer"
Double Click on "Drive x:" (Where x: relates to the drive letter holding your application)
Right Click on the folder "Timewcf"
Click on Copy
Click on Edit
Click on Paste

Start the NLM

 

On the Server at the console prompt type in the load command for your application
(eg LOAD SYS:APPS\EQUINOX\EQUINOX CHARITY) This may vary depending on the volume and directory setup on your server.

Perform the upgrade

 

Double click on the folder on your local hard drive containing EQCLIENT
Double click on Equinet.Exe (The one with the coloured icon)
Log In
Click on Publisher
Click on Upgrade
Click on OK (provided you have made a sucessful copy as described above)

When the upgrade is complete, click on OK and then Exit Equinox and close all Windows.
Run the application and the upgrade should be complete.
